Seniors Club

Founded in 2023 by Tessa Brown, a dedicated GKNC member, the Kenridge Senior’s Club brings seniors together twice a month—once for an engaging talk by a guest speaker and once for a fun activity like chair yoga, board games, or even a mini-Olympics.

This initiative fosters a strong sense of community and belonging among our seniors. We always welcome support, whether through donations for refreshments and speakers or volunteers to assist with hosting, setup, and engagement

Bark Park

Our Kenridge Bark Park is a beloved space for both local residents and visitors from surrounding areas. It’s a place where dogs can run, play, and socialize in a safe environment.

We have exciting plans to enhance the park, including installing a water fountain (our top priority!), creating a puppy training area, and adding a memorial wall to honor beloved pets that have passed.

MTB Skill Track

What started as a passion project by local kids looking for a more challenging track quickly grew into something much bigger. During the 2020 lockdown, residents came together in large numbers to build and shape the Kenridge MTB Skill Track, transforming it into a true community space.

While initial enthusiasm has settled, a dedicated group continues to maintain the track, enhance the park, and develop an indigenous garden. We extend our gratitude to Hans Hückstadt for managing community relations and Quentin Radsma, whose leadership was instrumental in building and maintaining the track.

Biodiversity Group

The Kenridge Biodiversity Group is a community-driven WhatsApp group for nature enthusiasts who are passionate about preserving and celebrating our local indigenous species. Members actively maintain Wildflower Stepping Stones, remove invasive weeds, and record plant species in the neighbourhood.

With guidance and support from the Wildflower Stepping Stone Project, the group makes informed, ethical environmental decisions and introduces new locally indigenous plants to the area. Members also harvest and grow wildflower seeds at home, reintroducing them into parks to enhance biodiversity and increase local floral beauty.

Security

The Kenridge Neighbourhood Watch, known as the Kenridge Neighbourhood Initiative (KNI), is dedicated to ensuring a safer community for all. Working closely with private security company CNI, we strive to enhance security and vigilance in the area.

To strengthen our efforts, we need more volunteer patrollers. Your participation can make a real difference in keeping Kenridge a safe and welcoming neighbourhood.
